Setting Up an Email Account in Apple Mail as an additional account

If you have already used and set up an email account in Apple Mail, use the following steps;

  1. Open Apple Mail and click Mail > Add Account… on the menu bar.
     
  2. Select Other Mail account… and click continue.
     
  3. Enter your name, email address, and password and click Log In.
     
  4. Under Username, enter your email address again.
     
  5. Select the desired account type. You can choose between the account types IMAP or POP3. We recommend using the default IMAP setting.
     
    - Enter mail.{yourdomain} in the Server for incoming email field.
      - Enter mail.{yourdomain} in the Server for outgoing email field.
     
    Leave the default values for all other settings like Ports and Encryption method.
     
  6. Click Log in.
     
  7. Select the apps you want to use with your account and click Done.
     

You can now start managing your email account with Apple Mail.

 

Troubleshooting:

  • If no messages are able to be sent or received, check the account settings.
     
  • Check the firewall you use to make sure that the required ports are open.
     
  • Check the settings of the antivirus program you are using.
